Immediate family members of a citizen or legal resident receive preference in immigration:
- Spouses and children of U.S. citizens and legal permanent residents (I-130, K-3, K-4 visas)
- Parents, brothers, and sisters of U.S. citizens

- Adjustment of immigration status (I-485)
